DKS-PRODUCTION
What DKS is:
DKS stands for "Den kulturellter skolesekken", a national scheme that gives all Norwegian schoolchildren in primary and secondary education annual access to professional art and cultural experiences such as music, theatre, film, literature, visual art and cultural heritage. The scheme, which is unique in the world, aims to provide children and young people with cultural competence and contribute to their formation and understanding of various art forms. We are proud be included in this program and look forward to our further travels and interaction with the students!
About our production "Bridging Worlds - one song at a time":
This is a musical story about how the Norwegian artist Martíne Kraft from IWASHERE was invited to the North American indigenous People.
Bridging Worlds is about building bridges between two distant cultures. Now, around 200 years after the great migration of Europeans to America, they are united through the language of music and friendship. In the concert, the electronic folk band IWASHERE brings with them a very special friend, Fred Hill Sr. from The Confederated Tribes Of Umatilla Indian Reservation. Bridging Worlds is a tribute to North American indigenous people through their own stories and lived experiences.
